POEM: For Kelly...(WOMAN)
As women, we have such a complex relationship with our...selves. Our bodies. Our personalities. OUr insecurities...and not to mention other women.
We worship media images of women, but disdain and destroy that same beauty, confidence and light when we encounter it face to face. We need to celebrate ourselves. So on this valentines day, I invite you, WOMAN to love yourself, celebrate yourself, admire yourself and above all be good to yourself.
This poem was inspired by my friend Kelly. The painting in this post is hers. She embodies the beauty of WOMANHOOD like no one else I know. She lives life out loud, with unabashed vulnerability, honesty and love. A beautiful model...
Be inspired...
You're gorgeous. Walk in it.
You're sexy. Revel in it.
You're feminine. Teach us with it.
You're creative. Inspire us with it.
You're expressive. Ignite us with it.
You're loving. Lavish us with it.
You're strong. Hold us up with it.
You're BEAUTIFUL. Be a living, breathing piece of art with it.
You're smart. Stretch us with it.
You're funny. Bring us joy & laughter with it.
You're BRILLIANT. Make us think with it.
You're RADIANT. Light us with it.
Above all...don't deny, douse, diminish or hide any of it. The world needs You...and it.
